“Witches Tower”
History:
Duane Starin donated the land in 1888 for the construction of the tower which was the highest built structure in the city at the time. The Starin Park Water Tower is the 2nd oldest fully functioning municipal water tower in the state and designated as a local landmark by Whitewater Landmarks Commision. The tower is eight feet tall, made of limestone and is octagon in shape. The tank at the top of the tower holds 185,000 gallons of water. The limestone was taken from a quarry on the south side of the city; the tower was completed in 1889.
Claims:
It is rumored that witches would surround the tower and perform rituals, it is also rumored that there is an altar buried near the tower.
Experiences:
While inside the water tower, the team heard a dog barking and it sounded like it was coming from inside the tower. The walls of the water tower are extremely thick stone, while the door is closed you cannot hear anything from the outside. The team had stones or pebbles thrown at them twice from across the space. The team also heard a male voice.
